HI GUYS. So you remember a few weeks ago (actually it's about a month ago aha) I decided to hold a competition? WELL HERE GOES. I've been thinking long and hard about it, and have finally come to a point where I'm happy to announce my summer competition.

A basic outline..
Okay so a lot of artists nowadays hold competitions that run along the lines of "draw my characters". What I'm going to do is let you do ANYTHING, as long as it relates to your favourite summer lyrics.

This means you can draw, you can write, you can record a video, you can do ANYTHING - as long as you are inspired by your favourite summertime lyrics.

And again, these lyrics can be anything. I say "summertime" but summer means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, so who am I to say your chosen song has to have "sun" or "beach" or something in there somewhere?

You can include your own characters, you can include mine; I will not judge you based on whether or not you include my characters. This can be in any medium, from painting to digital artwork to an animation or even prose or poetry or lyrics of your own.

Requirements
- In the description of your entry, you must link to this journal entry (advertise ) and you must also cite your musical influence - artist and track name.
- Your entry can be in any medium but it MUST be uploaded to deviantART. (This just makes it easier for me to keep track of entries.)
- Once you've uploaded your entry, note me the link to the deviation.
- You CAN enter more than once, but bear in mind that you can only receive one prize.

Actually, that's about it as far as requirements go. :B

Deadlines and Prizes
Well I go back to school on the 4th of September, but that's only just over a month away and I know some people don't like to be crowded by deadlines, so I'm going to extend that to uh. Well let's say October time. I'll figure out a better date once I get my timetable and I know what's happening for me at school. (:

As far as prizes go.. I'll be offering a mix of things. You'll be getting a choice of awards.

They will run from 1st to 3rd place, and, depending on the number of entries I get, there will be some honourable mentions as well. Depending on the number of each kind of entry I get, these will either be judged as a whole body (all entries together) or into two or three categories (probably split into visual arts and written). If that makes sense. (:

Okay so:

1st place will get EITHER a twelve-month subscription OR a "Type Six" commission.

2nd place will get EITHER a three-month subscription OR a "Type Four" commission.

3rd place will get EITHER a one-month subscription OR a "Type Three" commission.

Honourable Mentions will get a "Type One" commission each.

If those prizes don't rock your boat, then I'm sure I can figure something else out for you

Judging
Well I'm no expert in every field of art so I'm going to enlist the help of some friends to judge this. Please bear in mind that this will NOT be judged based on artistic ability or the number of my characters you include, or whether or not we like the song!

As I decide the judges I'll post a list up here. So far we have:
